Mamas Ivory part of my 'Mamas' collection.
Elephants are large mammals of the family Elephantidae, there are two species traditionally recognised - African and Asian. Both species are threatened by poaching and hunting, by supporting various charities I hope together we can contribute to the eradiaction of this evil practice.
I love painting silk batik and thought it would be fun to use a similar technique with ink on canvas. This simple but stylish illustration is of one of my favourite animal scenes, an elephant with her baby calf. The image to me stands for everything good and kind in the world and shows that only elephants truely have a need for ivory.
Media used is ink and gouache on canvas - finished painting size is 17" x 12", price includes frame and frame ready to hang overall size 20" x 16".
